Exhaust and cats

Hi all,

Looking at getting new exhaust. Bit confused as don't think my car has a Cat! And the second hand one I been offered looks very different sets. Both are for 325i.

Question ? Are some e30s cat-less??

Almost all are cat-less.

Anything pre 1991 doesn't have to have one.

Thanks for the replies most appreciated. Anyone know why the systems are different? Not make but visually- mines a three piece. Which includes the up pip to engine.

The other is a Three piece too- but pipe from back box to centre seems much longer ??

Hi, mine is a 2 piece system without cats. I got a replacement off eBay, Kwik Fit etc were useless!

Anyone know why this is?? Some two and some three piece?? Thanks for the info? What make was yours of eBay ?

Can't remember the make, it was good
Quality though and weighs half of
The original! They do the 3 piece
Version too, search eBay for 325i
Exhaust front.
