Depends what you want them for. They "look" like they could install ok, megasquirt is a bit DIY, and not really that cheap any more. But tuning on the road is cr4p, and it only done it they don't have rollers. I have no experience with them though.

Find someone with a rolling road that is familiar with Megasquirt. I have no doubt that MS is capable of doing the stuff you need it to do, even though its not my thing. The key to it is the man doing it.ezagood wrote:Sorry I should have been clearer. I have a working mega squire that I need mapping.
Tuning on the road though is not good enough in my eyes, a good rolling road can hold a car at specific speed and load site while the alterations are made. If you have tried doing this on the road you will know its almost impossible. I know there are other ways, but the guy I use can map a car in a couple of hours, and its done, theres no "oh we'll sort that out next time....", apart from the cold start, you only get one go a day to sort that, and its easily fixed. He doesn't do MS though.

Maggs is right.
The other thing you cannot do on the road is sense torque well enough to find the ignition timing for MBT.
Fuelling is possible on the road by data logging and rinse/repeat procedure but you could do that yourself in a few weekends.
However that will only get you to a safe tune. Somewhere around sociometric.
To get best power is again needs rollers to sense torque output.

i went there today and I have to say I was impressed. shaun knows the system and was all over it like a rash. he had it ticking over better in minuets. I agree with whats been said in that there is no way of knowing that the adjustments you are making are adding bhp/torque but I now feel I have a car that is safe to drive and that the injectors I have arnt big enough (I was told that before I started) he picked up on a basic setting that wasn't correct and was adding timing. I would totally recommend for road tuning and when I get my bigger injectors i'll be going back. maybe I can get him to do the last bit on the dyno just to know for sure its as good as it can be. the drive home definitely felt smooth and sorted. I also got a tutorial on what does what in the settings.
