hi folks, looking at getting myself a sump guard for the sport as in the next few months it will be pressed into daily service.

now the thing is i really dont fancy paying up to £200 for a bit o bent steel plate so i'll be making my own.

what i need are two measurements, length from the front subframe (two bolt holes behind the steering rack) to the radiator mount (the metal strip beneath it) & the width between the two bolt holes on the subframe.

i would measure it myself but i'm away from the car & i don't have my jack handy (insert your own exscuse here........)

so i was hoping some one would have the measurements to hand.

if so, thanks.
if it's got t*ts or wheels it's bound to be trouble...............prove me wrong.

Only problem is that's not a sump guard - this plate fits under the gearbox, is a standard fitting on E30s, and is as about as effective as a chocolate fire guard in front of an open fire as regards protecting against impact.
BMW refer to this part as an air duct.

That's not a sump guard. It protects the gearbox.
