Hi All,
Decided to get rid of my unichip as I can't find anyone to tune it or purchase the software and go for a megasquirt diy kit.
Question is, can a normal wide band o2 sensor be used? As I'm trying to keep the cost down at the minute and all I've been reading is people like to use the innovate lc-1 kit but cant really stretch to that at the minute. Just want to see whats going on with the AFR to tune it

you can use a narrow band sensor with megasquirt but i wouldn't advise it, it can only really tell you if your are richer or leaner than stoichiometric not by how much. if you are planning to try and tune it your self a wide band is a must.

that's what I'm on about using is a wide band sensor. I just wanted to see what other people are using.
The innovate kit seems to be the popular one but they are around £140 and a normal wide band o2 sensor is £50

you cannot use the wide band lambda on its own the megasquirt does not have a wide band controller built in hence the need for the extra controller lc1 ect, there are also offerings from tech edge, aem, 14point7 to name a few.

Ok, I see
That's all I wanted to know really. I was just unsure if it needed the controller or if it could run the sensor on its own.

Cheers

I have heard very good things about the 14point7 controllers.
