Hi,

I am fitting an '89 M20B25 engine into my '89 M20B20 cabbie.

I am only fitting the engine and re-using my gearbox, ecu etc.

Can I fit my M20 exhaust manifold to the M25 engine? The M25 manifold has a different joint on the downpipe end, so it won't connect to my current exhaust?

Also, will the injector electric rail which connect to injectors from the B20 fit too (I appear to have rendered the one on the B25 engine useless whilst dismantling it)

Hopefully not totally dim queries!!

The injector rails are the same between 2.0 and 2.5, although the injectors are obviously different. If you keep the ecu then you will have to fit a chip from a 2.5. Don't know about the exhaust manifold.

You will need to use the b25 fuel pressure reg as well its 3bar vs the b20 2.5bar reg

Exhaust manifolds are the same between B20 and B25, apart from the age related change of downpipe flange. The B20 exhaust system is marginally more restrictive, but I doubt if you would notice. I suspect any aftermarket system is the same for both engines.

Thanks guys,

I've got the complete B25 engine - I have stripped it down to clean it up and get the injectors reconditioned, whilst doing that I managed to break(!?!) the wires from the injector rail to the sensors on the cooling system, the rest is all intact. I am ordering a new chip from SpeedTouch for my B20 ecu.

Thanks again for the responses.
