Hi, I'm doing a front suspension rebuild after failing an MOT and I've noticed that my springs are chopped (explains the back-breaking ride). As far as I am aware they are not legal and I've got enough interest from the local bacon as it is so I'm wanting to stay 110% legal! I like the height its at right now and I want to keep it the same but the problem I have is that I don't know how much has been chopped off the springs so I don't know what size lowering springs to get.
Does anyone know what length a stock spring would be? and then I can measure my ones and figure out the drop.
Thanks in advance folks!

Dude, just get the lowest springs possible. Like -50 or so and it should help.

I wish I could but I've got 18" Alpinas on it and they already catch the arches at full lock so it either needs to be the same, or even a tiny bit higherflybmw wrote:Dude, just get the lowest springs possible. Like -50 or so and it should help.

Obviously whoever did the lowering job on your car should never be let near a car again on pain of death, he probably cut the springs and never thought about the shocks, the 2 work together.
you'd like to stay 110% legal, then go with mtech ride height. Also with 18" wheels, it's not just the springs giving you the back breaking ride. cheers.
