Took the car out on Saturday to give me mum a lift then planned to return home to pick up my refurbed Azev A's and take them down to get fitted.

I dropped of my mum, sat in the car for a bit with the engine of but stereo on then when I tried to start her up she coughed and spluttered but wouldnt ignite. Felt & sounded like the battery had gone flat, phoned my bro and he said it sounded like a flat battery and that I had flooded the engine. However the lights on the dash were still on and stereo still worked but clock on the on-board computer had reset itself. Phoned up the RAC and he said that the battery had cut reseting the imobiliser.

Car has an after market alarm & imobilser which I thought I had disabled as it didnt work but the cut in battery seems to have "brought it back to life". I have no fobs and no instructions for the alarm / imob so car is going to have to go in to the garage this week and be brought back to life.

RAC guy said that they would have to rip out the alarm and imobiliser and said it was about a 2-3 hour job which I baulked at as this will of course all be labour.

Does anyone know or has anyone experienced this and know how big a job its going to be - I'm a bit worried and extremely gutted as my shiny Azev's are going to be sitting in the garage until this is fixed.

Help as always much appreciated.

Remove the inspection panel from above the glovebox, and hunt for a white two pin socket coming out of the loom at the top with two green wires.
IF the original alarm was connected properly there will ba a plug connected here which goes to the alarm immobiliser. If not, there will be a plug fitted with a short loop of green wire.
If the alarm is connected here, have a look nearby to see if the plug wuth the loop is taped up into the loom, or cut the wires to the alarm from the plug and join them together.
