Had my 325i Touring dyno'd at Bexley while it was in for brake fluid change on Wednesday.
The reason I had this done is because I fitted one the E30Zone Shop ITG induction kits and felt quite a big difference in midrange torque - it was really apparent in the higher gears. It felt more powerful than most of the 325i's I've had in the past.
The other reason is I wanted to see if this car was a good test bed for other performance parts that are sold through the shop.
The car has no other modifications at all.
It made:
173 bhp @ 5700 rpm
177 lb.ft @ 4100 rpm
I will post up the graphs later but I was really impressed. It did kind of explain why it felt so good through the midrange.

A rolling rd costs around 35+VAT for a power run.

I am going to get a before and after run in the next week hopefully - the test needs to be performed with a totally clean OE air filter, my old one was a bit dirty but not very much.

Touring now has full scorpion system on it. Got it for 95 notes and its pretty new. My old exhaust I thought was leaking so it was rude not to fit it. Old exhaust turned out to be ok and it was 2 manifold studs loose that caused the blowing!
Anyway, its failry quiet right now - I'm sure it will get noisy after a while!
Definate loss of bottom end torque!!

Did you also get an "at wheels figure" when I had mine RR at Surry Rolling Road they couldnt give me a flywheel figure as its an auto but it made 121 at the wheels which they calculated to be 165 at the flywheel
Mine is totally standard at the moment but Ant is putting the Zone chip in this week so will have to get an after figure for it.

The bexley dyno does show real wheel BHP but it doesnt record it on a graph.
I was looking and it made just over 130bhp at the wheels.
Losses are calculated on the run down and added to the wheels figure through the entire rev range - it is quite accurate.

so it lost 40 bhp in the transmission? thats about 25%, i was told it was only about 10-15% you lost

You cannot work out losses as a percentage. Its a very very general way of doing things and is highly innacurate. Different cars have different wear in the box and diff, there is difference in tyres etc etc. There are so many variables.
E30 m3's normally lose about 40-50bhp through the tranmission.
Scots car put down around 210rwhp and made 249bhp at the flywheel - that has the same gearbox as me and an open diff.
When I did my dyno run two people had to sit in the back to stop it wheel spinning (cold tyres) hence increasing friction on the rollers.

Ants prices are very reasonable and he does alot of extra work at no extra cost - so tea and cake at Aces is well deserved!
173 bhp is so far what its made.
Lets see what the manifold gives along with the Keyring.
If it makes good power then I will take it to another rolling road with a standard 325i for comparison. I know they work and give some excellent gains so have no problems doing this.
I firmly believe near 200 bhp can be achieved from a 2.5 if the right parts are fitted. 190 bhp has been done and dusted with a few mods so its not exactly hard.
Remember, the manifold has had alot of work go into it, ideas were taken from the RD manifold as it was an excellent design to start with.
