Can anyone confirm that on all 87-91 325i e30s the Fuel Pump Relay (FPR) & O2 Sensor Heater Relay (O2SHR) are in fact interchangeable?
Reason for asking is that right now they are working fine but I want to keep spares available like my spare Main Relay. My existing FPR is stamped with an OEM part #61 31 1 378 301. The existing O2SHR is a Bosch #0 332 014 456. Both are orange with 4 blades and have the same terminal blade numbers and layout. When I do part searches using the 61 31 1 378 301 I get what appears to be a 7 blade fuel pump relay that I believe actually applies to 4 cylinder engines that have both a transfer fuel pump and a main fuel pump. Also somewhere along the line while viewing various forums I think I saw someone note that the FPR and the O2SHR were interchangeable. My Mobile Traditions software doesnÔš't help much because it says that a 61 31 1 378 301 FPR is not in my vehicle.
If they are interchangeable then IÔš'll only need to buy 1 since itÔš's not very likely that both would fail simultaneously.
Thanks.

Same relay. Just ordinary 4 pin Normally Open single pole relays.
All the 4 pin relays un the fusebox will work in place of either, on a temporary basis at least.
I carry a little device I found in a scrap '91 E34. It looks like a yellow relay, but only has two pins - 30 and 87. Absoloutely nothing inside of it, except a link between the two pins, so if it is plugged in place of an ordinary relay, it powers whatever that relay controls, permanently on.
