Hi

My front fogs and interior light aren't working on my preface lift convertible.

The bulbs and fuses both look ok. Are there any relays to check or should I measure the voltage next with a Dvm?

When I put the fog light switch on it does light up on the instrument panel does this confirm the switch is working or not? The rear fog seems to work ok.

Thanks

The dash tell tale light is connected to the 'out' side of one of the two fuses in the fusebox, so the problem is with the lights themselves, or their earthing.
What interior light are you referring to? If you mean the one that should light the interior when you open a door, does it work in the manual position of the switch?
DVM is likely to give misleading results when testing. If a wire that should be live is unloaded, a DVM will still register 12 volts, even if there is a poor connection of several thousand ohms in the circuit. A much better tool is a 5W 12 volt bulb with a couple of bits of wire connected to it. E30 indicator repeater is ideal.

The backs of the fog lights do look very corroded so I guess it's possible the earth isn't good enough here. I need to get new fog lights anyway so hopefully this might resolve it.

Regarding the interior light I've tried it in all positions but still no joy. The filament of the bulb looks ok but the bulb does look quite old. Is it worth carrying out a resistance check? Or is it possible the switch itself has gone?

The car was stood 8 years and has various electrical issues I've resolved a fair few of them, but still problems with the fogs and interior light and occasionally the rear lights and brake lights play up.

Thanks
