Hi guys, just thought I would pick your brains if you don't mind, especially as I haven't been on here for a few years so its a bit of a cheek really.....
Anyway, I was having a sort out in my shed this morning and came across a head and block that I bought several years ago so that I could have a 2.7 engine built.
My question....Are they still desirable or are they heading for the scrap pile?
Cheers guys.
A quick hello and some advice needed please

Depends what head and block they are - standard 320i or 325i, or something a bit special...
Also, of course, the condition of them.

a 2.7 if done properly will give you an "as new" engine, if fully (re)built.
unlike the myriad of m5x swaps thats doing the rounds.
also, a 2.7 is period correct for the age of the car.

if it's got t*ts or wheels it's bound to be trouble...............prove me wrong.

Yes should have said really, its a 885 head and a 525e bottom end. They're surplus to me now as my cab went to Africa a Couple of years ago for a damn fine price I might add. I'm sure its all usable stuff just not to me anymore. The problem for me is I just can't face dumping it knowing it could have potential, not money potential but desirability for someone.

give it all a once over & put an add up in the for sale forum.jacko wrote:Yes should have said really, its a 885 head and a 525e bottom end. thing is those to parts alone are getting rare so i'm sure some one would be willing to take them off your hands.
give them a once over, & write out an add in the for sale section detailing the mileage, condition etc & a price you think is about right,
but as for value, it's had to say.

885 heads are good money, probably a lot more than you paid for it.
ETA blocks are still worth something but not as wanted anymore with the availability of M52 2.8 cranks.
