Hi guys, I'm in the process of putting the head lamp wash wipe system in and can't find any diagrams of the routing and connections fit the pumps and hoses. Can anyone help me out with a couple of pictures.

Cheers Ian

So I've got it all together but it appears to have some electrical gremlins and need some advice. Both the motors have been stripped down, tested and everything greased up before re- fitting. However now it has the following issues.
Sometimes the system will work as expected, other times it will play up in a few random ways. Sometimes the washers will work but only left hand motor works, then same but only right hand motor and finally the headlamp washers will stay constantly spraying with out either headlamp motor moving.

Any ideas what I should be looking for, it's doing my head in..

Thanks

All the control unit does is provide a pulse that starts the wiper motors off. After that, everything is controlled internally by the motors themselves, including the washer motor (by the wiper motor with four wires), so the it's the motors that are likely to be the problem, specifically the operation and timing of the internal switches.

Thanks Brian, is there a specific way of setting the internal switches?

Can't remember, TBH. I've rebuilt loads of them, but not lately.
If anything needs special care or is not obvious when dismantling or assembling it, I write up notes for my large E30 folder, and the only thing in there referring to the motors themselves is the function of the four wires going to the plug, so from that I assume it's all fairly straightforward.
The only other possibility I can think of for this fault is that the control pulse is too short, and may not be long enough to allow the internal switch in the motor to switch over to constant power on every occasion, but I've never come across this, and never had occasion to measure the length of the pulse. This would only account for one of the motors sometimes not starting though. The washer running must be the wiper not in its parked position.

P.S. Another possibility, and again, one that I've never come across, is the carbon brushes for the motors sticking, and causing the motors to randomly stop mid cycle.
