medium case lsd diff end float / best oil

Does anybody know what is the maximum movement or 'end float' for the driveshaft output flanges on a 188 medium case diff ?

Also, what is the best oil for a lsd diff ?

Castrol syntrax 75w-140 - medium case takes 1.7l.

I'd go along with that. New clips are available from BMW along with the output seals.

If the seals have not been renewed then Castrol B373 stands a better chance of staying in the diff than the fully synthetic version
