Water splashing noise in sills?

Hi I have a e30 convertible 1992 I can hear water splashing noise when I break hard from passenger side by front footwell near speaker any ideas someone said it could be water in sills .where are the drain holes in sill so I can check to see they are not blocked or any other suggestions thanks
