Sweet looking old tram. Sadly he equates the engine cubic capacity as the value in sterling.

I bet the kickdown cable's seen some action.

The M20 2 litre e34 were the proverbial roadblock. The M50 gave it a bit more of a kick up the arse but to be honest you are better off with a 518i. Or of course a 2.5.

Dire spec and the 2.0 donk? About the only thing its useful for is the sump kit!

Its probably quite a sweet drive if, and its a big if, you can put up with the lack of go. About 9 years ago I had a manual E34 520i touring and that was leisurely at best, even with its extra 21bhp. It was a such a comfy and pleasant thing to smoke about in though that I was never in a rush to drive it anywhere.

One of the most underpowered cars ever was a 1989 G-reg Vauxhall Carlton 1.8L my dad had as a company car; with a lame single carburettor and 90bhp to shift around 1.5 tonnes of vehicle, it was pretty slow, particularly when my dad used it to tow a caravan.

At least it was a manual though - goodness only knows what the automatic would have been like...

All E34 M20B20 had the same ratio,, the shortest EVER in a 188mm casing

4.44

so you can really see how utterly slow it was
