M52 flat spot

I've got a big flat spot on my m52b28 between roughly 3 and 4K rpm. Then it picks up and goes again. Is this cam position sensor or vanos. Comments please

I have something v. simmiliar. The engine feels under powered. (still loads more than the m40b18 though) I have done a CPS, Vanos Solenoid and AFM. Advice most appreciated. Or even some tests i can do... I love jabbing stuff with a multimeter

Jabbing it with a laptop or fault code scanner would be more worthwhile
