Not sure if this should be in ICE but will try here first.

Found this radio balance switch in a scrappy and was thinking to wire it to balance between front & rear speakers so can be used to have a normal conversation without turning off the sounds.

As it was on the floor on it's own I haven't a clue where to start, especially as it has five terminals.

Any ideas peeps?[/img]

Is it worth the bother?

Why not just use the fader on your stereo!

The fader turns sound down all round on mine, bit like a mute, so you still get sound at front.

Also gets rid of a blank in the dash, which I hate with a passion, for some
unknown reason.

It's absolutly useless unless you have an original radio and amplifier.

item 12 = balance switch
item 11 = original radio
item 6 = amp

Car came with a Pioneer rad/cass (Fcukd) and speakers (all pretty much Fcukd); and the wiring looks like my Grannies knitting, but more colourful. Going to be easier to replace/repair the loom.

The original radio was in a Tesco bag in the boot and is mint, so when I found the balance switch I thought it would be good to restore to original.

Now it might just be a case of sticking the switch in the dash to look pretty.

RETRO can be hard work sometimes
