Evening all,

I'm on the lookout for a Weber 32/34 DMTL carb for my 316 M10 as the Pieburg one that's on it currently is giving me hassle - erratic idling, engine cutting out when slowing, etc. I'd thought it was an air leak but according to my mechanic unfortunately the carb is on it's way out Sad

I've found a couple online for £300+ but I was wondering if anyone here might know of anywhere I could find one cheaper?

Second hand is also an option.

for the sort of money that you are looking at for another carb why not drop a 316i engine in?..the whole conversion is unlikely to costs more than 300 and the economy will be much better.

One or other of the zone traders usually have one of these available second hand. Check that it comes with the top adaptor, to fit the OE air filter box.

It is not quite as straightforward as some internet experts will have you believe :( You will need to swap the tank, fit a return line, fit a fuel pump and associated wiring, change the cylinder head ( carb head ports won't match up to injection manifold) and loads more.
I would keep hunting for a good Weber kit. They are out there.

Many years ago I took a Webber conversion from a 1.8 golf mk2 and fitted to a 316. Had to make a plate to fit the air filter but it worked well.
