Ok i know they are poo engines but...

Get this one.. car turns over wont start all good fuel pressure and so on..

No fault codes. unplug the cam sensor, Boom it's running.

Now a fault code for the cam sensor no signal code because its not plugged in, but it runs without it plugged in. Plug it in and it will not start with not a single code WTF ???

Used another sensor just to make sure from another car that i know works and still the same result lol

Anyone that can work that one out the drinks are on me!!!

If the timing was out and it measured that from the cam and crank positions you would normally get fault codes stored along the lines of engine speed deviation, plausibility or camshaft to crankshaft sensor deviation. The exact description eludes me.

Does it start if the cam sensor is plugged in and the crank sensor disconnected? On the N47 if the crank speed can not be read then it will work out engine speed from the cam sensor and run but with extended cranking time before it fires.

Has the engine had any other work?

I would think he's torched it by now if it's not been fixed considering the question was asked back in may.
