HI MY E-REG BMW 320I HAS THIS PROBLEM WITH THE PETROL NEEDLE NOT SHOWING HOW MUCH PETROL THERE IS IN THE TANK AND AT TIMES IT STARTS TO GO MAD BOUNCEIUNG FROM EMPTY TO FULL N STOPPING AT THE MIDDLE..ANY IDEAS

I have the same problem with mine. I'd also like to know how to remedy this.

hi i finally know wots wrong with my petrol needle, thanxs from OTHER sites and clubs its the sander unit on the tank which needs changeing thats causeing the needle to go funny.. :evil:

ithink theres two in the tank. one is linked with the fuel pump and other on the other side. which one?

It also might be the grounding nut at the back of the guage in the cluster. Often then rattle loose! just tighten it up...

Same thing with the temp guage

Oh and your post may have not been looked at as it was in CAPITALS, its regarded as shouting/rude and not that easy to read...

please also note that e30 petrol gauges, once they reach quarter full, drop extremely quicker than any other car gauge i have seen

going round corners too fast doesnt help either as it still uses the conventional method of measuring how much fuel there is in the tank
