Theres nothing wrong with the exhaust. You will find most of these "stainless" exhausts will be never be as good as a proper BMW item.

^^^^^ THIS. Stick with an original / OEM system. Anything else will devalue the car IMO.

What's wrong with the standard exhaust? Why molest it with some stainless system?
Paul, Barry,

Is that OEM exhaust with the straight outlets still available? Not worried about the shadowline, just the straight outlets.

Thanks

Rear section joins just behind the centre box. Think that means two piece?

It's for a 1990 prefacelift cabriolet.

Thanks

Durability is not an issue, the oem ones last many years of daily use, so yours should be sound for ages as in guessing it will be a dry weather car

Hi guys thanks for input and ideas..yes I won't be doing much mileage .I will compare costs to original and weigh up what's best .this is after all a car I am going to keep for some time..original exhaust still OK at moment .so I will concentrate on a few details just to make this perfect..few creases with ground in dirt on front seats and under bonnet sound proofing ripped a bit .front fogs not working and needs a damm good clean and waxoyl underneath..its all I could fault with the car ,but I got £300 off for that .which in turn paid for tax and most of my insurance .which I couldn't believe was only 128 pound..bargain.

New bonnet insulation is available from the dealers, about £55 IIRC.

Looks nice 8)
