Hi guys, in need of a little help on which starter motor to use?
am building 92 non vanos m50 2.5 with 5 speed box from e36 with m52 2.8 crank and 240mm solid/lightened flywheel clutch kit, do I use m52 2.8 starter motor? Have looked/searched everywhere and can't seem to find a definite answer, any help greatly appreciated.

Use whichever starter motor matches the flywheel. Is the 240mm flywheel an M20 flywheel - or for M20 applications? If so, use an M20 starter. If the flywheel is for M5x applications, use an M5x starter :)

As above you need to identify the flywheel you are using, an M20 flywheel uses a 228mm clutch

Thanks guys, flywheel is designed to replace dual mass oem 240 mm m52 2.8 flywheel, kit is everything, lightened 240 mm single mass flywheel, clutch pressure plate to suit and clutch plate, so should get m52 2.8 starter motor?
