im having trouble with the switchable auto in my 325 touring.
when i set off it changes from 1st to 2nd fine but struggles to get into 3rd and wont go into 4th also when i take my foot of the accelerator the revs just drop to idel speed as if the car isnt in gear.ive changed the atf fluid but that hasnt helped.anyone any ideas?

Maybe it's just a clogged filter? Did you change that when you changed the ATF?
Otherwise it might be that something is clogged up in there. Maybe you could have a pressure test done. The Bently has some good info on how this is done.

bongo if you need a 325i switchable auto box i have one sittin in a breaker i got off ebay with a cracked head i beleive there is some history of some sort of work carried out to it but i will have to dig that out an check that just a thought if you needed one mate
Thanks for the advice but decided to bite the bullet and get another box,found 1 for 50 quid which i know is very cheap and got it fitted for 130 quid and it works perfect also got an mtech 1 steerin wheel, prop shaft ,auto radiator and wing mirror for nowt so ive had a bit of a result i think.
