After wanting an E30 Alpina for a long time, I have finally got a 1988 C2 2.7. I plan to keep it original and address some of the issues.
The car has just been given a full service including cam belt and water pump.
I will post more details shortly so hopefully you knowledgeable folks can advice me with the work.

The work required so far includes:
- Replace exhaust
- Repair the 6 branch manifold
- Ceramic coat the manifold?
- Repair the rev counter
- Repair the rocking seat
- Refurb the wooden gear knob
- Replace the seats with original houndstooth cloth seats?

You can see the damage the Alpina manifold does the the inner wing/chassis! Ceramic coating will help with preventing this.

I went to view this car, and decided not to purchase. Needs more then the above, especially the paint.

320iConvertible, The list above is just the start of the work including the dashboard. I need to drive it a bit to find all the issues.
It's hard to find a decent sport let alone an Alpina C2 2.7 for that kind of price! He could have achieved more.
I have already discussed the option of full strip down and repaint with BSS

I am already thinking about the restoration and creating a list of things to do.
I am still not sure what to do with the interior. Should I keep it completely original and find a very good set of original houndstooth seats or go for a full retrim like my Hartge below?

Thanks. I find they have very different character. The Alpina is faster and more agile possibly due to it being coupe and lighter. The Alpina performance should improve once I get a decent exhaust. The Alpina feels more refined whereas the Hartge feels more aggressive. I love them both though.
