The Hartge is now pretty much completed ( http://www.e30zone.net/modules.php?name ... &start=100 ) so I needed a new project to spend money and worry about. I have always wanted another 325i sport and found this one. It needs quite a bit of work but the good thing is it’s in my favourite colour.

I will be uploading details and pics as the garage makes progress with the car. The first on the list will be to cut all the rusted items and replace with new. :(

The items to replace so far will be
Ӣ front panel
Ӣ Both sills complete
Ӣ Rear panel
Ӣ Both inner arches
Ӣ Both outer arches

Once the welding is complete, it will go in for a complete windows out full respray.
It would be good to get some advice and recommendations during this restoration.

Cracking project, looking forward to this

One question if I may, why did you cut so much of the rear arch away into that trapezium shape ?

Keep up the good work

Me too lol....i did mine recently and just replaced as much as i needed to keep most of the original panel as i possibly could.
ie. I just replaced the arch lip and one extra inch further in to eliminate any possibility of rust which was not visible still being there.

jimbom30cab, I am not sure why they cut more but I will check with them when I go for my weekend update.

Thanks for the encouragement guys, I wished I could do more of the work myslef like some of you here :!:

Is there anything else thats worth addressing at this stage while the car is stripped?

The progress has been slow with the purchase of my Alpina C2.

My time has been diverted to the Alpina but I am hoping to get some update at the end of the week. They have been busy with the welding though!

The welding is completed and the shell is now waiting to be painted now. It’s slowly getting there:

It’s finally nice to see some panels painted, hopefully not long before the painting is completed.
