Are "chromies" more desirable / valuable than the plastic bumper e30's ?

I can't stand chrome bumpered models, including cabs, but as said a couple of posts up, it's down to personal choice.
The value of most chrome models is probably rising faster than that of the plastic bumpered equivalents, simply because there are relatively fewer of them left.

I think a nice chromie looks more like a classic car than the facelift plastic bumper models.

I agree, chrome looks great on any car. Its good to see a lot of modern cars with chrome also.

That's just the wheel of fashion revolving around to where it was fifty years ago.

I've always prefered Facelift until recently, Now got a Cromie and i must admit it looks far more of a classic car. I guess they've finally come of age.

Best compromise is a prefacelift with painted metal bumpers, that's how mine came from t'factory.

Thanks for replies - I have a slight preference for plastic bumpers although the bumper difference is not as extreme as the mg b where where the latter plastic bumper models look hideous! Just wanted to get a view on does bumper impact price / desirability. Sounds like it's personal choice.

My search for the right car continues!

Cheers all

I've gone for plastic on the front and chrome on the back....

I set the fashion trends! Unfortunately, they will take more than 50 years to catch on!

Chrome on anything post 1980 is just plain wrong.

Chrome on modern cars just looks like a rapper got hold of it and "pimped" it.

With that said I prefer the look of the metal bumpers on the E30s when painted.

I always liked the look of the chrome models, I think the smaller tail lights look better. Having said that, all three of the chrome ones I have had were total rot boxes! Looked lovely on top but crusty as a tiger loaf under! I think the later sport looks better than tech 1 plus no early "is" which I think are great looking cars! But I would.... :D

Chrome bumpers must be accompanied by chrome wheels though.

Best look imo
