Think on. I hope life and Karma teaches you how precious life really is.

I agree, this could and should have been nipped in the bud but for whatever reasons it wasn't. It frustrates the hell out of me that the coallition forces don't say "enough is enough" and then wipe these animals off the face of the planet in the space of a few weeks. What's with all the pussy-footing around with the occasional air strikes that don't really make a dent in the IS forces? All or nothing!Andyboy wrote:A nice idea, but why the **** did we not support both Assad and Gaddafi to actually prevent what is happening now? At what point will Isis stop? At what point do we say 'sorry, no more'? Do we stop when 50% or more of Syria is living in the UK? Who is payCloggy Saint wrote:No doubt i'll get shot down in flames for this, but can people not understand the difference between migrants and refugees?? These people are fleeing for their lives, not to try and enter Europe just to do a bit of cash in hand work and milk the system. Yes, Britain is a small island with limited space but if anything can be done to prevent fellow human beings, regardless of colour or religion, from being ruthlessly exterminated then it should be done, if only on a temporary basis. It's a bit sad that so many people here are treating this as a joke with their glib comments and attempts at making light of the situation. There but for the grace of god go you ....

The world needs a war as over population is draining the whole planet! Taking out the sex machines in Africa will sort out some of the problem! Trouble is that no government has the money to start a war anymore!

I don't think IS will stand in the desert and wait for a coalition force to wipe them off the face of the planet.
They will go to ground, like the Taliban, and chipaway at any foreign force as they know time is on their side. Wars on terrorist organizations take long term occupation. Something Western forces are SHIT at because we let peasants vote
That's my view on it.

Nobby how can you make such a ridiculous statement! After reading some of these posts really lost faith in the zone and people's views, which agreed you are entitled too. But we are living in a different world.
Some of you guys claim this country's yours this that etc but just remember the country's foundations of wealth was built on robbing and killing of people and countries around the world - through Colonnies and slavery.
Just for the thread I don't think UK should get involved as it has its own problems that need addressing.
I am a family man and totally sympathise with the man who lost his kids but neighbouring countries should be the first point of call then the next closest country after that an so on......

Migrants Peter?
The polish builders who restored the grade 2 listed house next door to me clearly knew what they were doing. 12 hour + days, every day until the total rebuild was done.
Done properly too, not some lash up by a clueless English builder with no idea on traditional building techniques.

Exactamondo. My nephew who has recently turned 16 came from a piss poor village in Northern Thailand 8 years ago. He's passed 10 A levels and is wanting to study architecture.rh306 wrote:Only an anecdotal but one of my other half's colleagues has a daughter who has a migrant in their class at school (out in the Essex/ East London borders). There's something to be said for the hunger to succeed/ improve your lot driving you forward.
In contrast a lot of the white middle class kids I know are going backwards soci-economically because they have had it easy so far.. they think the world revolves around them and that the world owes them a living. That is turning out not to be the case..
When push comes to shove, Syryan refugees come from a country that''s been fucked from a situation WE have created. A pity the US is so far away because they should also be shouldering some of this. Has Tony got a spare room or two?
Thing is though Dan, none of those countries started a war. They already have extreme oil based wealth and don't need to fight anyone other than in defence.DanThe wrote:Here we go, just to confirm my "extremist racism" as gerty would put it no doubt!

Simply put, what's going on in Iraq, Syria etc is none of their business. They're not interested.
Kuwait was invaded by Iraq in 1990 after reneging on a deal with Saddam Hussein leading to the first Gulf war - Kuwait backed Iraq in the Iran Iraq war. We shoved the Iraqis back into Iraq and left it there - and that should have been that. Saddam licks his wounds, gasses a few Kurds, job done. However, arseholes such as Blair thought otherwise, poking the hornets nest and triggering a chain of events that has left the current shitstorm. How is Blair still alive?
Seriously - why has nobody shot the c*nt yet?

I've got a Ugandan/ Indian builder at the moment, best builder I've ever had. I've also used English builders on this job. Any English ones still in business after the Polish invasion must be doing something rightJesus325iTouring wrote:Migrants Peter?

Ill bet the English builders have to be rather more economical with their pricing, plenty of upset builders struggling to find work for £500 per day.

I'm glad this thread has created debate and dialogue around the subject. If we left it to the Gerts of the world, anyone who raises such conversation is a racist animal

Not entirely - he was blinded by it all and was a Mussolini rather than a Hitler. Still, he's living it up now and wriggled out of the Chilcot Farce nicely. What does he charge for an after dinner speech? 30 grand? Money well spent imo. Might hire him for the Sheffield section BMW Car Club xmas bash. Can't find any other comedians.
