Most people seem to be turning more liberal within recent weeks with their attitudes on the refugee/migrant crisis.

I make no qualms about my thoughts. Despite pictures of drowned children, human suffering is not a new concept. It's been happening around the world everyday for thousands of years. Does that mean you take every single person in to Britain who's in danger?

Then you have to look at the demographics of the country. With hundreds of thousands coming, and with some predicting the wars abroad looking to continue for the next 30 plus years.. This would probably be the nail in the coffin for the traditional indigenous identity of this country.

I would also bring the religious issue up, and the ramifications of that.. But the PC brigade would have me in a cell with Pony before I could say 'Ham sandwich'

This is one thing that your Gerts, Babs etc. who live in harmless suburbia, with only Ali down the paper shop as their experience of immigration, don't realise.

Liberalism has nothing to do with the situation or peoples attitude. I assume you're using the word incorrectly to suggest people have all come down with a case of Left-Wing-Tree hugging-sandal wearing-Ryvita eating-Hippieicitis.

It's a humanitarian crisis pure and simple, while a small proportion of those are economic migrants, the vast majority are refugees fleeing the brutality of the ISIS franchise. "Suffering" is not a new concept but it's not happening in some war torn shit hole, it is happening on our doorstep. Any right thinking Nation would do all within their power to stop a multitude of corpses washing up on their shore or that of the EU!
