Unrelated but in the local paper this week, a bloke broke down in his Escort Cosworth, walked ten minutes to his house to get another car and trailer and returned to the car, all in under 20 minutes. Got back to the Cosworth, gone.
This is in the countryside too so not much passing traffic or people.

Stolen in France. That will be somewhere in Eastern Europe now.

Naturally you are going to get people doing insurance jobs on cars like this which have ballooned in price. The insurance company are none the wiser if your m3,mk1/2 escort, cosworth etc etc is a shitter or just a logbook for that matter.
I'm by no means saying this is an insurance job(I didn't even click on the link).

Heart breaking!
My friends brother got a flat in the country side, pulled to the side of the road, put the hazards on, started to replace the flat with a space saver.
A pick up pulled in front of him and a gaggle of travelers approached him, "This is our car now, walk away".
They didn't get the car, don't get in the way of a farmer on the way to a jive
You'd think that but there are opportunistic pricks everywhere.Jesus325iTouring wrote:Unrelated but in the local paper this week, a bloke broke down in his Escort Cosworth, walked ten minutes to his house to get another car and trailer and returned to the car, all in under 20 minutes. On agreed valuation polices over a certain value the car needs to have an independent report or at the very least photographic evidence of it being something decent.jonb wrote:Naturally you are going to get people doing insurance jobs on cars like this which have ballooned in price. Although not full proof, it goes some way to kerb that situation being too prolific.

"This is our car now, walk away". Fuck that! Pikey's have an odd idea of what is Theirs and what belongs to others. It's technical term is thieving! I hope you mate got a wrench out and battered them.

He was on his way to a jive at the YFC. He had four culchies in the car, hidden behind Bruv tints.bosers wrote:More details, Bab. How'd he get through that one?
(Culchies = farmers, who we all know are selectively bred for their ability to throw large farm animals)
