My camshaft I know is nackerd, but the car is running so rough could one or more fuel injectors be naked as well. The symptoms are misfiring, idelling fast and slow, starting very hit and miss,ie might start when you show it the key or 20 , or 30 seconds later, when this happens the engine doesn't really fire it just tuns over.when the car up to speed the misfire is not as bad but you can still fill it.The only other way l can explain how it drives,it just as if it's damp.

A leaking injector will make the car difficult to start, and misfire for a while when it does.
Check by getting yourself a £10 fuel pressure gauge off of ebay, plus 6" of fuel hose, connect it up, and see what happens to the fuel pressure after the car is stopped. If it drops, clamp the fuel hoses in turn to determine exactly what's happening.
As ever, TEST; not replace random parts.
