Hi,
Does anyone know ( aside from the pin 20 cut ) to swap a 89 m20b25 into a pre face Cromie auto non injection shell will i have to move wires about in the C 101 or is it Plug and play once the inhibitor switch wirings removed ( if anyone knows what colours behind the glove box i'm looking for it would be a big help ) , also i presume i'll have to add fuel pump ignition supply wires - Anyone know if the engine side of the 89 C101 has an output for this that i can connect to ? Many Thanks

Other than checking pin 20 you don't need to do anything to the wiring on the C101 plug. As you mention it's an 89 M20B25 it'll be running Motronoc 1.3, so have a read of this link, http://www.e30zone.net/e30zonewiki/inde ... 1.3#Loom_2 it's the only wiring you should need to alter and is purely for instruments. The wiring is in place for the fuel pump but you'll just have to attach the correct plug, I'm sure there's a thread about it somewhere. I chose to fit an internal lifter pump but I also changed tanks as the non injection ones don't have the bowl that the fuel pick up sits in and so can suffer fuel starvation when fuel is low and you go around a right hand bend.
Thanks Kedge/ Dan, I've just read that motronic page and i'm confused, my c101 only has 8 wires, of which two blues go to Pin No 1 ( which agrees on both car & engine)
), I have a black & brown wire to Pin No 3 of the car side and no matching connection at pin 3 on the engine side, Brown/purple On No 4 ( agrees on both car & engine), Yellow / Green on pin 6 ( car side ) which goes to Green & White @ pin 6 on engine side both are Oil so i guess that's OK, Pin 7 Green (on both car & engine sides ). Pin 9 has Black/yellow on Car side which goes to plain black on engine side ( is this correct ? ) Pin 11 is white/blue on the car side and green/white on the car side ( is this correct ? ) finally red/purple on the car side and green/purle on engine side ( is this correct? ).
I'm left with fuel rate input on engine side No 8 ( white /black ) with no car side connection and speed signal No 14 ( Black /white ) with no car side connection and most importantly Start ignition on engine side pin 18 ( black / yellow ) with no Car side connection - Any ideas guys ???

Black/brown is oil pressure switch, and should be on pin 5 both sides. Sure you're not confusing '3' and '5'?
The rest appears to be OK, other than pin 18. It's correct on the engine loom, but it seems strange that you have a black/yellow on 9 on the body side.
Find the two black/yellows behind the glove box, that you disconnect from the inhibitor wiring and plug together, and check with a meter to see if the black/yellow going to the left is the other end of the wire you have at 9.
This leaves you with road speed, fuel rate, and engine speed (revs) missing from the body loom, which you will probably find in a three pin plug hanging down from the loom near the instrument cluster.
This gives you the choice of finding the corresponding engine loom wires in the engine loom near the ECU, finding a matching three pin socket to connect them direct to the plug, or extending the wires from the instrument cluster loom to the plug to the empty pins on the body side of the C101.
Any other extra wires on the engine loom will be for ABS feed and/or oil level switch.
