Yeah it's another one of those boot leak threads!

So basically I've had this issue for my whole ownership of this car. Seem to be chasing leaks from different locations!

It's only ever been on the DS.. but was firstly coming from the side vent.. However for overkill I replaced the Boot seal, Light seals and vent gaskets..

However the leak continues..

I had nothing to do today, so done some testing and have realised it's coming from the gap in between the arch, and only when I spray a water hose to the petrol cap area! The petrol cap rubber seems to tight and in place, so not sure how it's getting through.

Obviously I can't see bugger all down that gap, so stuck for ideas now!!

Anyone else had this problem?!

Take the wheel off and the rear arch liner and have a good look / poke around. MANY otherwise nice and shiny E30s are NOT pretty in this area :(

Just done this and it seems solid! Dusty as hell, but solid nonetheless.

Unless it's osmosis, I'm stumped :(

It's usually the sunroof drain flaps in each rear quarter panel in the boot (behind the lining) find them, pull them out and ditch them, then fill the hole with a plastic panel or fibreglass and cut a round hole in it and poke the drain pipe out of it, so the water still drains out behind the bumper!

Yeah it's not them.. Was before, but the gaskets took care of that issue.. it now comes from the gap a few inches ahead of the flaps

Your rear arches have been replaced so there may be a small area where it's not been sealed and/or welded properly and is letting water in.
