vented front disc and solid front disk

need some info about brake disc.

why 325i use front vented disc and not solid disc like 318i? does it has more superior stopping power?

and what make different between example ate, pagid vs cheaper disc brand? is it just same metal and the high price because of only the brand? and the very important is the brake pad?

bigger engine with more power needs better stopping power. i would prefer to go with a better known brand for brakes as opposed to some cheap stuff.
