Hi I've just come across this forum I've always wanted a e30 but never got one due to other projects , now I'm determined to buy one! I'm after some advice I've spotted one near me which is also on eBay it's a black e30 convertible was a 2.0 now had later 2.5 fitted it's up for 3999 my problem is this it's got no history what so ever the guys a trader it's got a hole in the rear screen and light, few scabs on the body it's got nitrous in the boot years mot
Right do you experts! Think it's worth it as I'm thinking I'll have to replace the roof and I have no idea the miladge or service history or who did the conversion this is all before I've looked and possibly found other defects
Any advice greatly appreciated thanks chris

Welcome to the zone....
This is a converted car that is worth the sum of it's parts....
A replacement roof is a £500/£750 job.
A decent condition, genuine 325i cabbie will struggle to make £4k unless low owner/low miles/full history etc etc.
So a converted 320 with nitrous(shudder)in the boot would have an oldy like me running...
Sorry to seem harsh, but there are far better cars out there.

I can think if better ways to waste your cash than buying what you have described. One to miss.

I would trust a well maintained M20 engine over some dodgy engine swapped car. If you do the swap yourself or know/trust the person that did it then that's fine, but otherwise you could be in for lots of expensive trouble!
