New shocks? Size please

Hi all.

I restoring my 325i cab. The shocks were dead but it had lowering springs. The springs are in good condition.

My question- do I stick with 51 mm struts or buy 45 mm to compensate the shorter springs??

51mm is the diameter of your front strut tubes and nothing to do with the length of the springs or ride height.
45mm struts were only fitted to small engined saloons (plus the diesel version of the touring.)
