Bahrain DIY widebody kit!!! Bahrain DIY turbo 325!!!

came accross this on my travels the other day, the man claims it was made here in Bahrain but i am a little skeptical, however it does appear to be well made and out of metal not glass (although the styling leaves a lot to be desired!! bootyman may like it however )

but does anyone recognise what kit it is and could it be homemade? (as if it is there could be an oppertunity here for kits, once the man has had a bit of style direction!!)

also found one young lad screwing the arse off his 325 cabby, as he passed me (on full opposite lock) i heard a whooooosheeee, hmmm.. so by the time i caught up with him at a local garage we had a chat and sure enough he had what appeared to be a small mitsubishi turbo in there, he claimed he had fit the lot by himself at home (we do get a lot of bullsh1t claims here BTW!!) so i am off to his place this week to investigate as he was in a rush, numbers were exchanged and with that he dissappeared in a hail of popping exhausts, rev limiter and tyre smoke!! this i will persue if its a genuine claim and post on it later!!

for now enjoy the widebody!!! it is actually a facelift car but front foggies appear to be the older type, love the grill!!

the dish on those wheels is nuts looks like when people here in the 70's used to mount their mag wheels on the wrong way to acheive a giant dish effect ... and broken axles

looks similar to what a zeemax ( I think thats who they are.. they do wide body kits for most cars) does.

Very old skool. Only thing i'd lose would be the boot spoiler.

Looks like it could be a copy of a Zeemax or possibly Zender kit if it is genuinely DIY. The front headlights i'm sure are Zender.

It's a Konig kit and he certainly didn't make it at home. It wide and makes a statement, but it's not the same as the Rieger, but then i guess i would say that. I will post some pics of how it should look ion a mo c

if the Koneg kit is fibre glass arches then this thing is definately not a kit, these are metal arches!! i checked under the enourmous wheel arches!!

and no big tuners out here,Dubai for that but the racing scene is taking off and drag racing is getting quite big so more should start to follow, M%pilot what you doing in bahrain??

most tuned cars here are imported engines or complete cars, or DIY jobbies, but must admit ssome inventive kids out there!!!

I really cant see how some camel shagger can make a kit like that in his tent He bought it and the only kit that looks like that is what i've posted up. Unless he got a copy of the kit fabricated in metal?

It still dont look right to me compared to the one that i've posted up. Maybe it's cause the one in my pics is a cab

yep that definately looks like the koieng kit, mrlee- are you sure its metal, if it is then dunno how he did that, doubt someone would go threw trouble of copying a kit and getting it fabricated in metal.

Ive seen that kit on a uk car.
It was a c reg coupe with the koieng kit ,i can't remember if it was black or dark blue.Someone i knew was buying it ,it may have been turbo'd also.

Thats it,seen some pics about 4-5 years ago,definately the same car,the guy i knew had some photographs that he showed me.Said a load of bollocks that he'd bought it but there was running problems with it so its somewhere getting fixed.Then i asked wheres this car then and he said " oh they can't sort out the running problems so im not buying it now"

I think it's currently up for sale at the moment. Pete will be able to shed some more light on it when he see's this thread. Apparently the car was originally built for some Arab rich man who spent serious dollar on it. Jonb will know more about the car too cause i think he was offered it or he bought it before

had a go in a SLK65 today hmmmmmm V12 biturbo quick as , he had it in SLR silver but with red suede interior, looked shite, and then there is this
an DB9 with an Ikea interior, this looked equally shite!!!

Is this kit still in production and readily available? I like how it looks alot, with the exception of the trunk lid.. but thats not part of the kit anyways.

That kit actually seems to suit the body but I hate those headlights; they have taken all the "GROWL" out of the front end.

I dont think you can but the kit anymore form the manufacturer, but i'm sure you can source one if you look around. Might take you a while, but i'm sure you'll find one.

That boot is called a toxic boot. I was looking at them, but with the amount of bass running through my boot it will crack in no time

Ho and i cant imagine that kit on a car with any other colour apart from black. It just looks mean with that colour and i'm not sure it will look right with any other colour. I think the Rieger kit is a lot softer so you can get away with more

I used to own the Koenig turd that Booty posted .It is currently for sale. It has a weber alpha injected 2.7 with custom pistons and rods etc etc etc 360 bhp !!!. The car has lots of trick bits and hartge parts and has 335 ( ) rear tyres on BBS splits . It was NEVER owned by that loser Jason Cooper, i sent him some photos but never seen any of his money (a common complaint i believe !)
I bought the car off the saudi about six years ago and sold it to a victim in cork, ireland who now has it for sale.
The car was originally dolphin grey and had the koenig kit fitted by marranellos in 1988 (i think). The current owner done a trim out colour change to the current rover/mg purple flip, he also fitted the council lights and homo steering wheel.
I personally think the car looks hideous but it is seriously FAST and very sorted. If any victim is interested PM me for details.The car is still uk registered and has done about 65000 miles.

yep thats the guy !! I didn't think he'd bought it but at the time a very gulable (sp?) young me believed him,until of course it never showed up.

360 bhp sounds like a real monster. I was thinking of buying it and breaking it up for the engine, wheels and a few other bits until Pete told me the price the guy wanted and it made me fart, then i saw the pictures and it made me poo my pants
