Just ordered some Bilstein B4 shocks front and rear. The back one's were relatively simple to put on but before I start the fronts, the wiki says to use cooling oil in the strut.
What is the best oil to use and how much shall I put in? I've read neat antifreeze can be used?
Which cooling oil - shocks

IIRC i used a bit of left over engine oil when i fitted my koni's.
The reason it is there is so heat is transfered to the shock casing, rather than there being an insulating air gap.
Personally I use oil though. The grade is unimportant.

i'll be honest, when i was using H&R shocks i did use 3 in 1 oil as it was what i had to hand at the time, had no probs at all.

Problem is that neat anti freeze does not pass the heat through as well as oil, so I would use a good oil instead.
