Hey,

Does anyone know if a spacer for a crown wheel can be bought anywhere or do you have to make one yourself? I can find loads in the states but for old american cars.

I bought a diff with 2.65 gearing and lsd. Took out the lsd to put in my car which have an 4.10 gearing, only to find out that I'm missing around 10mm before it matches up. I have adjusted with shims but its not enough.

Do you know what the casing size is/was for each?

Are you trying to put a 188 case LSD unit into a 168mm case? (or possibly a 210mm LSD into a 188mm case?)

I've read on here before that there was a change in the crown wheel thickness on very low ratio 188 diffs. AFAIK, when you get below 2.91 the problem occurs.

Both are 188 cases.

Yes I also read that, because of the gearing the thickness of the crown wheel is different. You can get loads spacers/shims in the US but only for American cars. I can get one made, but its £150, quite a lot for a spacer.. I know its a one off piece and thats why the price is high..
