Hello,

I got g260 recently but i don't have the propshaft.

I read that all the back of propshaft are same, so i will cut and welding the front section only.

I need the size of the front because i will cut it, please see the pictures so you can know the range that i need.

Please info me if any friends here has the data.

Thanks
Markus

Wiki gives the total length of a 325i prop: http://www.e30zone.net/e30zonewiki/index.php/Drivetrain
If you're starting with a 320i prop., it gives the length of that as well, so subtracting one from the other should give the amount to be removed.

Hello, Brian
Yes, 325i is 1483mm and m40 318i 1480mm. I'm very confused as the different is about 3mm and likely it is wring data, because 325i should have shorter propshaft but wiki said longer.

I have also measure that g240 m40 size from bell housing edge to the bracket is 490mm and g260 has 510mm.

Does it mean that the front propshaft will be shorter 20mm?

I assume that the engine position is same between m20 and m40 engine. I mean that the engine will be only move forward but the position at the joint between rear engine and front bell housing is same between m20 and m40. Any one can confirm this?
