Alternative Fuel hard line attachment

Hi,
After removing the petrol tank (55 ltr job) I noticed how crusty the fuel lines that run along the passenger side where...... Then the fixings holding them in seized. Most have broken off flush to where they where screwed in 25 years ago..

Is the one that also holds the front to rear brake line if it helps.

So.... Can I just drill a self tapper in the floor, through the bracket and a bit further away from the broken mounts (bit easier than option two or is it going to cause issues down the line?) or should I weld on a threaded piece and nut and bolt it?

The fuel lines fell apart in my hands.... Good news is tanks solid !

Any ideas?

Self tappers are the crude way. Much better to lift the side of the carpet up and fit either stainless or brass nuts and bolts.

Which ones did you use? Seems to be a few styles and how did they attach?

Rivenuts are attached using what is effectively a modified pop rivet gun, or the slow way, using a bolt, a couple of washers and a socket plus ratchet.
AFAIK, they're not generally available in rust proof materials, so I'd advise going with the stainless or brass bolts, and lifting the edge of the carpet.

When installing a rivnut, its good practice to 'seal the edge' before you install it, so grab a touch up stick and have it handy when drilling the holes.
