Hi,

My 1991 cabbie's drivers seat will only stay up in one position (quite reclined, luckily my arms are quite long), if I try and adjust the angle of the seat back it just drops onto the rear seat. It is also on a slight angle when it does stay up, feels like its only held up one side.

Are the seat rake adjusters repairable/replaceable, or do I need to replace the seat? Apart from the rake adjustment the seats in very good condition.

Any guidance on seat repairs/maintenance gratefully received.

Does the seat back move a lot?

Could be a broken back mount.... Wiki has info on this

Thank you slideout.

When the back is locked in position the seat wobbles on the left side, but is quite firm on the right side.

Not sure how the mechanism works, but if it had a toothed cog on either side to lock into, its as if all the teeth have come off both cogs except one on the right hand side!

Looked at the wiki, will remove the seat tomorrow and do what the wiki says and see if that fixes it.

If the mount is broken they can be welded or replaced.

Sure your see it , my one had the same issue (loose on one side) turned to be a broken mounting bit of mig weld all good
