Hi folks,
For those who haven't seen my post on facebook zone, I am looking at having a set of fibreglass replica Tech 1 sideskirts for a convertible made up due to the rarity and cost of original ones.
I have three other notes of interest already and I'm gathering names to see if we can do a group buy and keep the costs down.
Any more interest please let me know and I will try and get an estimate of overall cost.

It shouldn't be that expensive.
Most important thing here is, whoever makes them builds high quality moulds from high quality original masters.
Question is, who would give up a set of originals to ruined??

My question would be, with all the folk that make e30/e28 louvres and Alpina kitz... how many have tried this or are going to?
The Internet - It has proven to be worthless, and is nothing but a repository for perverts.

Don't understand why the originals would get ruined when making the mould...

Have you worked with fibreglass Gav? When making the mould the initial de mould process off the original master often damages it, of course it partly depends on the complexitity of the master, but certainly there is a high risk involved.
I make sure any of my clients are aware that the master they give me to mould can be irreverisbly damaged.
It doesn't always happen, but just occasionally a master is completely destroyed!

Who would want to make their convertible uglier?

@Jesus325iTouring
Ok, that seems to make sense and is logical...I always assumed as long as you use a proper release agent you were good to go...
so do you have ready made e30 moulds?

Thanks for the info, I was not aware of this and wouldn't like to take the risk. I guess i'll scrap this idea.Jesus325iTouring wrote:Have you worked with fibreglass Gav? Are the convertible Tech 1 skirts different from the 2 door saloon/coupe?

+1 here depending on price as mine has the front and rear bumpers but is crying out for some sideskirts!

Very cheap, 120 each I would have thought would have been a good price.Gavla wrote:Great price! ...have to be honest and say it seems too cheap...
Unless you have guarenteed money in the bank orders, how can you get it done so cheap?
