I have heard that the balljoints can be pressed out of the old wishbones and can be replaced.
Is this advisable as I can replace all bushing and balljoints on both wishbones with OE Lemforder for the same price as 1 Lemforder wishbone.
Is this a good idea or not?
It's a 318i with the original wishbones from new

I usually replace just the ball joints as it is a lot cheaper, but the fact I have access to a press at work helps. Otherwise I'd buy the arms and save me some swearing.

If only one ball joint needs replacing and the control arm bush is as new, then change the joint.
If both joints are duff, and new control arm bushes are needed anyway, then change the arm.
It's not a case of which is better - it's just balancing cost against faffing about.
