looking to get bbs rm 002
Moderator: martauto
hi im looking to get some bbs rm 002 15x6.5j et33 i believe these are split rims and originals. From what i can remember can you change dishes and get them wider and will it effect the ET if i change the dishes ?
RMs are 2 piece, and as you mention, the lips can be changed for a wider/narrower version. ET is measured from the centerline of the wheel, so changing the lips to a wider/narrower version will change the overall width of the wheel, thus changing the centerline, which in turn changes the ET.
cheers dooce so does that mean that i can go as wide as maybe a 8.5 j rear and 8 j front ?dooce wrote:RMs are 2 piece, and as you mention, the lips can be changed for a wider/narrower version. the et on the wheels im looking at are et33 if that helps .dooce wrote:If I am doing the quick math correctly, you'd need 3" and 3.5" lips to get that width with those wheels and I dont think you'll have the clearance to the wing to run that wide of a lip on an e30

No, the original lip is 1/2", so you'll need 2" front lips, and 2 1/2 rears, or you'll need to roll and flare the rear arches.dooce wrote:If I am doing the quick math correctly, you'd need 3" and 3.5" lips to get that width with those wheels and I dont think you'll have the clearance to the wing to run that wide of a lip on an e30
