hi guys im new to the scene ,
i have a 89 325i touring and recently thought of changing the chip to a EcoTorq M20B25 Mild bought it from a guy here in e30 and today i tried to change it and find out that my ecu is a different and can't change the chip :(
is it me not knowing what i should do or is it actually the ecu :?
i checked many videos and followed the all instruction from what i see is my ecu is a smaller.
any way i took couple of pictures , here they are,,,,
what i should do now ? , is this is a good ecu or is it better to change this to a different ecu,
please help
thanx
J

Not seen that no before. There's a table of Ecu nos in the wiki with corresponding models that I've used before. Don't know how to do a link I'm afraid. My 325i touring Ecu no ends in 173 I'm pretty sure. I have the chip fitted and its good!

Engine ECU is drivers side, to the right of the steering wheel on a RHD car. I think that's the ABS ECU.

On all E30's regardless of the steery wheel position, engine ECU is on the o/s,ABS ECU is on the n/s.

Just when you think you have seen it all :D

Hopefully the mild chip will work on the ABS because you won't see any difference in the right ECU :teehee:
