i recently removed cam cover, intake mani and throttle body to refurb and paint ect, there is a short thin vacuum hose that comes off the throttle body that has really strong suction i think it had a stopper type thing on it when i had it on the bench but it now does not.. i must of lost it, what does this hose do? do i need to replace the correct "stopper" or can i just be taped up ect?

Rotta.

It's the hose that would go to a solenoid valve to a carbon canister to the fuel tank vent pipe, if your car had been fitted with emissions equipment. It's not strictly necessary to use the correct BMW part, but the end of the pipe must be blocked off.
