I have a water leak in my e30, it seems to be coming from above the gearbox, actually leaking right down between bell housing and the engine. What could it be, there is no water on the carpets on the inside though. Is there any hoses up behind the engine and the firewall that I can't see?

Either the hose that goes to the stub on the back of the head has split,
Or
The little gasket on the stub pipe has gone....

Only way to get to it is move the engine forward, do you have any pictures by any chance?

It "might" be possible to get it without moving the engine,
depends how nimble/small your hands are....

You've got no chance, its intake manifold off or go from underneath and remove the starter. I've fixed plenty of these where the 'converter' has wound down a hose too big with a jubilee clip, it works for a while”¦.
