When I had my MINI (insert camp smiley here) I found I got better MPG and in the end worked out cheaper than regular stuff.

Would the iS benefit, being a slightly newer engine? Although it does pull cleanly and smoothly throughout the rev range on sainsbury's motion lotion...

No benefit for the iS (no knock sensor) maybe on the m44 e36s but not the m42.
318iS became MR2 Turbo became FTO GPX Mivec became Impreza became Rover 620Ti became Honda S2000 (current) became Fiesta 1.25 and 200SX Drift Slag (when the Honda has gone)

i feel so sad for your engines....... :(

mine only drives on 98, and i really feel the diff if i had to use a 95 if the pumps are out....

and when i go up in germany...ah miam....102 octane.....just loves that one....sucks it down sooooooo fast looool ....

i 'd persannally say use the higher ocatane you can as your engine likes high octane its not a diesel and i bet you do race it some times , more than sometimes even

Isn't it mainly a difference in the way it's measured? something to do with using MON instead of RON?

There's a garage near me that sells real leaded 4 star, its nearly 100 octane and my car seems to really like it, I don't use it all the time though, as it's about £1.09 a litre, last time I filled up it cost £63!!!
