I've decided the cabby's rear arches need doing as there's some bubbling beginning to appear.
What's the best source of repair panels, and is there anywhere to avoid?
It's a facelift model.

I'd be interested to know this too, as mine are in need of attention.

These show the repair sequence for one arch on mine some six years ago, time flys by,seem to remember that the repair panels were from Hadrian.
Even then, only saloon repair panels were available, but we only needed the arch lip.The cill section can probably be folded/shaped up if needed.
My fellow's apprentice(the yuf seen in the last shot)made up a front wing cill section,I'm told he needed three attempts before the gov'ner was smiling!

I looked at Hadrian, but apparently they went out of business a couple of years back. The guy who's doing the arches for me (Chic Doig Classic Sportscars) is a big Triumph guy and he told me that they just scrapped all the stock, including the all presses including ones for rarities like Dolomite panels and small Triumph chassis parts.
I went with panels from Imperial Automotive and he reckons they're pretty good.
I saw the car today, all welding etc. done just waiting for the paint.

Should have some shortly - it was stuck in a corner behind a screen today, but they're going to get some for me before the paint goes on.daimlerman wrote:Any photo's?
From what he told me today there wasn't much metal in the old arches - a lot filler and gauze, the sort of crap you used to be able to buy in the 1980's.

As pacer would say,it's the 'gape' one's that we want to see!
Sounds like you have had a 'proper job' done.

In a way I'm sorry I didn't get pictures of the rot but to be honest I'd rather not have seen how bad it was - main thing is it's sorted and he does a good job.daimlerman wrote:As pacer would say,it's the 'gape' one's that we want to see!

The cabbie was sharing the workshop with a 3.8 E Type a Vitesse and something 1930s British.
