I have a 1990 (E30 -M20 engine) 320i Cabrio. Its a german import LHD model. Does anyone know where I can buy a new catalytic converter (2 piece exhaust system!) at a responsible price? If not could I fit an whole new exhaust without a cat (there is an oxygen sensor in the downpipe)? Would it need to be a 2 piece or 3 piece? Could I fit a exhaust system from a 325i, is it the same fitting as the 320i? Please help.thanks.

Yes OK. But is the exhaust manifold on the 320i (M20) the same as the 325i and would I need a 2 or 3 piece system? What about the oxygen sensor?

My ex German 320i is a two piece system (which I think was usual) so I expect that you'll only need the front section.
However there is one complication: I bet your exhaust manifold is in 2 sections rather than the usual 1 so you'll have to make sure you get the right version of front section.
Hope that helps.

Thats right there is 2 exhaust manifolds. Is it the same system as the 325i?
